The native range of this species is Indo-China. It is a rhizomatous geophyte and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses:

Rhizomes of Curcuma longa have anti-inflammatory effects and aid digestion. Use 1 to 2 grams of rhizome powder mixed with warm water or added to tea, drink every day.
