The native range of this species is Indian Subcontinent to W. & Central Malesia. It is a tree and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome.

Vietnamese name: 

Trôm hôi.

Family: 

Sterculiaceae

Uses: 

Dysentery with blood, scabies, rheumatism, fever, sprains, hair and scalp diseases (bark).

Distribution: 

The tree grows naturally, and is also planted in flower gardens and streets for shade.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

April-September
