The native range of this species is Himalaya to S. China and Peninsula Malaysia. It is a tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Apply to wounds (bark). Crushed bark is also used to remove thorns and hard splinters stuck in the flesh.
Distribution:
Hoa Binh (Mai Chau), Thanh Hoa, Lam Dong. The tree grows naturally in evergreen forests, at an altitude of up to 1500 m.
