The native range of this species is Hainan to Indo-China. It is a shrub or tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Scientific name: 

Goniothalamus gabriacianus (Baill.) Ast – Oxymitra gabriaciana Baill; G. saigonensis Pierre ex Fin. & Gagnep.

Family: 

Annonaceae.

Uses: 

Roots cure smallpox, measles (Experience of people in Tuong Duong district – Nghe An).

Distribution: 

Quang Tri, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Tay Ninh, Kien Giang. Shrubs grow scattered in mountainous forests, at an altitude of 100-800 m.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

December-May; June-November
