The native range of this species is Afghanistan to Japan and Tropical Asia. It is a perennial or rhizomatous geophyte and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Cơm cháy, Thiết đả, Sóc dịch, Thuốc mọi.

Family: 

Caprifoliaceae

Uses: 

Treating scabies, healing wounds (whole plant). Breast swelling (Pounded leaves applied). Diuretic, laxative (Fruit). Rheumatism (Root). Stems and leaves treat nephritis and edema.

Distribution: 

The plant grows naturally and is planted as a hedge.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

May to August
