The native range of this species is Taiwan, S. China to Malesia. It is a shrub or tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Distribution: 

Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Kon Tum. The tree grows naturally in evergreen or deciduous forests, at an altitude of 100-500 m.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

April-May; June-November
