The native range of this species is S. China to Indo-China. It is a perennial or rhizomatous geophyte and grows primarily in the subtropical biome.

Uses: 

Stomach tonic, dysentery, dysentery, rheumatism, hemostatic, detoxifying, menstrual regulation, pain relief (Root).

Distribution: 

Cao Bang, Lang Son, Hoa Binh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue (Nam Dong). The tree grows naturally near water along mountain streams.

Flower and fruit season: 

July - August; August-December
