The native range of this species is Mexico to Central America. It is a climbing annual and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome. It is used as animal food, a poison and a medicine, has environmental uses and social uses and for food.

Uses: 

Diarrhea, cooling, laxative, blood purifier, boils, snake bites. Also use leaves to treat bleeding hemorrhoids.

Distribution: 

Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Thua Thien Hue, Kon Tum. The plant is grown as an ornamental plant and also grows wild in bushes.

June - August
