The native range of this species is S. India, Central Himalaya to Hainan and Malesia. It is a liana and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses: 

Diuretic. Treat kidney edema and urinary incontinence (Leaf). Bleaching, fever, rheumatism (branches). Also used to treat viral hepatitis; Enteritis, urethritis, acute nephritis.

Distribution: 

Hoa Binh, Lao Cai, Lang Son, Cao Bang. Trees grow naturally along the edges of restored forests and moist forests. Sometimes grown as a vegetable.

Flower and fruit season: 

April - June
