The native range of this species is Kenya to S. Africa, Indian Subcontinent to Indo-China. It is a shrub or tree and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome.

Distribution: 

Lao Cai, Lang Son, Hai Duong (Chi Linh), Nghe An, Thanh Hoa. Trees grow naturally, on shrub hills, and regenerated forests.
