The native range of this species is Tropical & Subtropical Asia to SW. Pacific. It is an annual and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome.

Uses: 

Treats rheumatism, fever, hemorrhoids, dysentery (decoction of whole plant). Pregnant women cannot use it.

Distribution: 

The tree grows naturally in wild grasslands, grasslands and shrubs, along the edges of evergreen forests, in bamboo forests, open forests of Dipterocarpus and pine forests, at altitudes up to 2000 m

Flower and fruit season: 

April to October
