The native range of this species is Indo-China. It is a tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Distribution:
Thua Thien Hue, Phu Yen, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak (Yor Don National Park), Tay Ninh. The tree grows naturally in dense evergreen forests and open forests of Dipterocarpaceae, at altitudes below 900 m. Rare species (EN) have been included in the Vietnam Red Book.
