The native range of this species is Indo-China to Sumatera, Hainan, Taiwan. It is a tree and grows primarily in the subtropical biome.

Decoction of leaves cures gonorrhea.
Distribution:
Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Cao Bang, Vinh Phuc (Tam Dao), Kon Tum, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan. The tree loves light, grows scattered or in clusters in primary forests, at altitudes of 300-2500 m.
