The native range of this species is Tropical & Subtropical Old World to Pacific. It is a climbing herbaceous tree and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome. It is used as animal food and a medicine, has social uses and for food.

Uses: 

Treats acute Amygdalitis, sore and swollen pharynx, acute conjunctivitis (whole plant). Enema (Seeds). Leaves applied to treat pimples.

Distribution: 

Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Hanoi, Hai Duong, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak. The tree grows naturally scattered along forest edges, wastelands, and bushes.

Flower and fruit season: 

December - March
