The native range of this species is Assam to N. Queensland. It is a shrub or tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Vietnamese names: 

Vông đỏ, Cây sói rừng, Đom đóm

Latin  name: 

Alchornea rugosa (Lour.) Muell.-Arg. – Cladodes rugosa Lour.

Family: 

Euphorbiaceae

Uses: 

Laxative, purgative (Decoction of seeds). Malaria (Leaf).

Distribution: 

The tree grows naturally, commonly in midland hills throughout Vietnam.
