The native range of this species is S. China to W. Malesia. It is a liana and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses: 

Treat jaundice (Fruit). Treats intestinal pain, rheumatism, bone pain (Root). pharyngitis, diarrhea, hemorrhoids, bleeding (stem, leaves).

Distribution: 

Ha Giang (Dong Van), Vinh Phuc (Tam Dao), Kon Tum, Lam Dong (Da Lat). The tree grows naturally along the edge of evergreen forests.

Flower and fruit season: 

March-May; April-September
