The native range of this species is SE. Vietnam. It is a tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

The species is endemic to Vietnam, only found in Gia Lai (Kbang: Kon Ha Nung) and Khanh Hoa.
Uses:
Precious and rare genetic resources. The tree gives hard and smooth wood. Many beautiful veins, used to make veneer, sawn board, make household appliances and construction.
