The native range of this species is Vietnam. It is a tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Vietnamese name:

Rẫm bắc bô.

Distribution:

Hanoi, Hoa Binh (St Sau, Luong Son: Lam Son, Yen Thuy), Ha Nam (Phu Ly), Ninh Binh (Cuc Phuong).

Uses:

Hard, good, termite-free wood is often used for house pillars.
