The native range of this species is China (Guangdong, Guangxi) to Tropical Asia and NW. Australia. It is a shrub and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Vietnamese name: 

Độc lực, Nhãn dê, Nhãn rừng, Cây chẹo, Nhãn cứt chuột.

Latin name: 

Lepisanthes rubiginosa (Roxb.) Leenh. - Sapindus rubiginosa Roxb.

Family: 

Sapindaceae

Uses: 

Cure pertussis (Seeds). Young leaves are eaten to cure insomnia. In Malaysia, the leaves and roots are used as poultices, and the decoction of the roots is used to treat fever.

Distribution: 

The tree grows naturally on bad soil in secondary forest, quite common in Vietnam.
