The native range of this species is Indo-China to New Guinea. It is a climbing shrub and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Latin name: 

Derris elliptica (Roxb.) Benth.

Synonyms: 

Galedupa elliptica Roxb., Pongamia elliptica (Roxb.) Wall.

Uses: 

Treat fungal scabies (roots).

Distribution: 

From the Central to the Southeast and the plant is abundant in the Mekong Delta, especially in Soc Trang.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

April - August.
