The native range of this species is Bhutan to China (Yunnan) and Indo-China. It is a climbing perennial or shrub and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Snake bite (Seed).

Distribution: 

Thua Thien Hue, Khanh Hoa (Nha Trang), Ninh Thuan (Ca Na), Tay Ninh, Dong Nai. The tree grows naturally on fences, roadside groves, forest edges, up to 800 m high.

March-September
