The native range of this species is Himalaya to S. China and W. & Central Malesia. It is a hemiparasitic epiphyte and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses: 

Cough, stomach pain, spleen damage, diarrhea, headache, insomnia, mental illness (whole tree).

Distribution: 

Very wide, in most provinces of Vietnam. The tree lives semi-parasitically on the branches of woody trees, in secondary forests, at an altitude of 500-1500 m.
