The native range of this species is China (S. Yunnan, Guangxi) to Indo-China. It is a rhizomatous geophyte and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses: 

Cure fatigue, poor appetite, back pain, rheumatism, dry neck and thirst, coughing up blood, chest pain, low blood pressure and neurasthenia, making tonics, increasing energy (rhizomes - processed tubers) terrestrial).

Distribution: 

Lai Chau, Son La (Ma River), Lao Cai (Sa Pa), Tuyen Quang, Hoa Binh Mai Chau, Hanoi (Ba Vi), Ninh Binh (Cuc Phuong); Also planted in pots, flower gardens.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

March - May, fruit: August - October.
