The native range of this species is S. China to Tropical Asia. It is a climbing perennial and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses: 

Antidote, anti-inflammatory poison (Turbo root).

Distribution: 

Lao Cai (Sa Pa), Lai Chau. The tree grows naturally in the open forest, along the stream in the limestone mountains.
