The native range of this species is Indian Subcontinent to China (W. Yunnan) and Indo-China. It is a climbing shrub and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Latin name: 

Spatholobus parviflorus (Roxb. ex DC.) Kuntze – Butea parviflora Roxb.

Family: 

Fabaceae

Uses: 

Tonic for blood, to cure bad breath, irregular menstruation, leukoplakia, spermatorrhea, rheumatism and edema, abdominal pain, worms, snake bites (body).

Distribution: 

Ha Giang, Son La, Da Nang (Ba Na), Dong Nai. The tree grows naturally scattered in dense forests, along streams, at altitudes up to 800 m.
