The native range of this species is India to China (Yunnan, Guangxi) and W. New Guinea. It is a tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Distribution: 

Hoa Binh (Mai Chau), Nghe An, Quang Tri, Kon Tum, Kien Giang. The tree grows naturally in forests, often found in limestone mountains.
