The native range of this species is Tropical & Subtropical Old World to N. Australia. It is a scrambling annual or subshrub and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome. It is used as animal food and a medicine and for food.

Latin name: 

Nelsonia canescens (Lam.) Spreng. – Justicia canescens Lam.

Uses: 

Treatment of hematoma, swelling (decoction of leaves).

Distribution: 

Tuyen Quang (Chiem Hoa), Kon Tum, Dong Nai, Can Tho. The plant grows naturally in the field in the dry season.

November-September
