The native range of this species is India to China (S. Yunnan, S. Guangxi) and W. & Central Malesia. It is a shrub or tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome. It is used as a poison and a medicine, has environmental uses and for fuel and food.

Lang Son, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Khanh Hoa. The tree grows naturally along the banks of streams in many provinces of our country.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

February-July, August-October
