The native range of this species is S. China to N. Indo-China, Taiwan. It is a tree and grows primarily in the temperate biome.

Uses: 

Cure rheumatism, bone pain (root); painful tendon stasis (root cortex); traumatic fall, rheumatic, yang, solitary (bark); Poisonous boils, burns, swelling of flowers and leaves); inflammation of the salivary glands, acute conjunctivitis (flowers); Chronic bronchitis, urinary retention (fruit).

Distribution: 

Lao Cai (SaPa), Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son.
