The native range of this species is India, Indo-China, Hainan, S. Malesia. It is a scrambling perennial or subshrub and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome.

Distribution:
In Vietnam: Kon Tum (Sa Thay), Gia Lai (Cheo Reo), Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Ba Ria Vung Tau, the South. The tree grows naturally on wild fish, roadside lawns, and fields, at an altitude of up to 600 m.
