The native range of this species is Tropics & Subtropics. It is an annual or subshrub and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome. It is used as animal food and a medicine, has social uses and for food.

Cyathula prostrata (L.) Blume – Achyranthes prostrata L.

Amaranthaceae

Uses: 

Laxative (stem, leaves). Snake bite, cholera, fever, rheumatism, generalized edema, liver disease, diarrhea, dysentery (Root).

Distribution:

In Vietnam: Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Ninh Binh, Binh Duong, Kien Giang. The tree grows naturally along the forest and in the garden to an altitude of 1500 m.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

July-December
