The native range of this species is Indian Subcontinent to S. China and Sumatera. It is a subshrub or shrub and grows primarily in the seasonally dry tropical biome.

Distribution:
In Vietnam: The tree grows naturally in Son La (Song Ma: Nam Man) and the southwestern provinces.
