The native range of this species is Bangladesh to S. China and W. & Central Malesia. It is a scrambling shrub or tree and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.

Uses: 

Treatment of menstrual disorders (stem, leaves decoction). Diuretic, anti-inflammatory, cure bronchitis, inflammation of the nasal mucosa, asthma, heart disease (Root). Dried fruit cures cough.

Distribution:

In Vietnam: Bac Kan, Hanoi, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue. The tree grows naturally scattered in the open forest.
