The native range of this species is S. China to Vietnam. It is a shrub or tree and grows primarly in the wet tropical biome(s).

Back pain due to kidney failure, dysmenorrhea, rheumatism bone pain (root, stem).

Distribution: 

In Vietnam: Hai Duong (Chi Linh), Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh. The tree grows naturally under the canopy of primary forest, at an altitude of 200-500 m.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

February-April; April-October
