The native range of this species is Nepal to S. China and W. & S. Malesia. It is a tree and grows primarly in the wet tropical biome(s).

Vù hương Xá xị, Gù hương, Re dầu, Re hương

Latin name: 

Cinnamomum parthenoxylon (Jack) Meisn. – Laurus parthenoxylon Jack

Family: 

Lauraceae

Uses: 

Low numbness, bloating, stomach pain, whooping cough (root).

Distribution: 

In Vietnam: Cao Bang (Chong Khanh), Quang Ninh (Ha Coi), Tuyen Quang, Bac Giang, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Dong Nai. The tree grows naturally in closed evergreen, tropical monsoon forests, at an altitude of 500-1000 m.

March-April, July-August
