The native range of this species is Assam to S. China and Indo-China, Taiwan. It is a tree and grows primarly in the subtropical biome(s).

Uses: 

Cure cough (The bark cooks drinking water).

Distribution:

In Vietnam: Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Son La, Ha Giang, Quang Ninh, Kon Tum. The tree grows naturally scattered in secondary forest, at an altitude of 400-1,800 m.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

March-VI; July-October
