The native range of this species is Indo-China. It is a shrub and grows primarly in the wet tropical biome(s).

Latin name: 

Phlogacanthus turgidus (Fua ex Hook.f.) Nicholson

Family: 

Acanthaceae

Uses: 

Pain in the limbs, expectorant, diuretic convulsion (leaf decoction). Also cures hot fever, malaria, vomiting, music, ascites, phlegm.

Distribution: 

In Vietnam: Khanh Hoa, Binh Dinh, Kon Tum, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh. The tree grows naturally, common in sparse forests.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

March-June
