The native range of this species is Tropical & Subtropical Old World. It is a scrambling annual or subshrub and grows primarly in the seasonally dry tropical biome(s). It is has social uses, as animal food and a medicine and for food.

Family:

Uses: 

arthritis, fever, cough, snakebite, neuritis, hepatitis, tracheitis, appendicitis, indigestion (whole plant). The rest are malignant.

Distribution: 

In Vietnam: The plant grows naturally on wet wastelands, around villages throughout Vietnam.

Flowering and fruiting season: 

May V-VI; July-October
