The native range of this species is Central & S. China to N. Vietnam, Central & S. Japan to Taiwan. It is a Epiphyte and grows primarly in the Temperate biome(s).

Distribution:
In Vietnam: Lao Cai, Hoa Binh, Lang Son, Cao Bang. The tree grows naturally in the limestone mountains.
