Distribution:
Southern China, Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. In Vietnam, the tree often grows on large trees in the forest or on the hill, in humid places from north to south (Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Lam Dong, Kien Giang). Harvest roots all year round. Usually it is dried. The roots are about the diameter of a vermicelli.
Uses:
Root is used to treat wounds and ulcers. Also used to induce vomiting in poisoning and treat diarrhea. In China, it is also used as an antidote in case of poisoning. Indicated for use in cancer, malaria and to neutralize toxic drugs. It is also a medicinal plant for leprosy.
