The native range of this species is S. Tanzania to Mozambique and W. Pacific. It is a Climber and grows primarly in the Wet Tropical biome(s).

In Vietnam: Quang Nam, Da Nang, Binh Thuan. The tree grows naturally in coastal forests and mangroves.
