its native range is Florida to Peru, Caribbean to N. South America. It is has environmental uses, as a medicine and for fuel and food.

Distribution: 

In VietNam: Hanoi, Khanh Hoa (Nha Trang), Binh Dinh (Quy Nhon). Trees are grown on the street, along the coast.
