Description.
Epiphyte with long creeping rhizome and erect l-leaved ovoid angled pseudobulbs about 1.5 cm tall. Leaves to 7—14 by 1.5—3 cm, short petiolate. Inflorescence from the base of pseudobulbs, 8—12 cm long, with 5—10 close flowers. Dorsal sepal purple-violet, ovate, about 4—6 mm long, with long ciliate margins and a long thread-like seta at the apex; lateral sepals light pink-violet to white, more or less densely speckled with purple-violet, about 2—2.5 by 0.3—0.4 cm, lanceolate to broadly lanceolate, connate along upper edges, sometime free at the apex, obtuse. Petals triangular, cuneate, purple-violet, long ciliate along the margins, 3—4 mm long. Lip yellow to orange, movable, simple, ovate, strongly decurved. Column with large broad stelidia semicircular at the apex.

Andaman Islands, Myanmar, Hainan, Thailand, Vietnam, Peninsula, Malaysia, Indonesia.
Notes.
Widespread but rather rare species in area of its distribution. Ornamental.
