its native range is Nepal to S. Japan and W. Malesia.

Vietnamese name: 

Màng tang, Khương mộc, Sơn thương, Tất trừng già, Khảo khinh (Tày), Tạ chàm điằng (Dao), Lồ lê (Kho)

Latin name: 

Litsea cubeba (Lour.) Pers. – Laurus cubeba Lour.

Family: 

Lauraceae

Uses: 

Chronic abdominal pain, flatulence, snakebite, headache, menstrual irregularities (root or sharp fruit drink). The fruit is used to store essential oils.

Distribution:

In Vietnam: Lao Cai, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, provinces in the Central Highlands. The tree grows naturally in secondary forests or restored forests after shifting cultivation, at an altitude of 100-1500 m.
