Description:
Utricularia aurea is a large bladderwort that grows submersedly floating under the water surface in nature. This rootless plant forms very finely pinnate leaves, of a yellowish-green colour in the aquarium, in nature sometimes even of a dark intensive red. Its bladder traps remain rather small (1-2 mm) when the plant is kept in an aquarium, or miss altogether. The 15 to 25 cm long flowerstalks carry 3 to 7 bright yellow flowers and rise above the water surface.

Distribution:
This species is distributed in the Asian tropics and in Australia, where it grows in shallow stagnant waters, also in rice paddies. In VietNam, found in Quảng Bình, Quảng Trị, Thừa Thiên Huế.
Ecological:
Aquatic grass, growing submerged in water, in ponds, lakes, lagoons, fields .. from sea level up to 2700m in altitude.
Uses:
In VietNam: Measles, acute conjunctivitis, quickly ruptures pustules (leaves). Reference:
