its native range is Panama to S. Tropical America. It is used as animal food and a medicine, has environmental uses and for food.

Distribution:
In 1990 this species was imported into the North of Vietnam, until 1993 it was replicated to many southern provinces and so far has been developed and expanded throughout the provinces of Vietnam.
Uses:
The plant is used mainly as fodder for livestock (mainly for herbivores).
