its native range is Temp. Eurasia, N. Africa to Sahel and Somalia. It is used as a medicine and for food.

Uses:
The whole plant is used to treat cough, tuberculosis, hemoptysis, asthma in children, sore throat, and boils.
Distribution:
In Vietnam: Lao Cai (Sa Pa), Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Cao Bang, Vinh Phuc (Tam Dao). The tree grows naturally on fertile soil, and alluvial soil along the river at an altitude of 100-1800 m.
