Description:
Evergreen bush or tree up to 3.5 m in height. Twigs are cylindrical, lenticellate and glabrous, with 3-4 cm internodes. Leaves are oblong to oblong-oblanceolate, acute or acuminate apex, 10-15 cm long x 2.5-5.5 cm wide, glabrous upper side, underside is pubescent along the veins, entire margin, petiole is 1-1.5 cm long. Flowers are grouped in lax terminal inflorescences, pink corolla, with tube up to 3 cm long. Fruit is turbinate, 2-2.5 cm long x 0.5 cm in diameter, with 10 longitudinal ribs, glabrous and covered in small lenticels.
Distribution:
Species is native to Burma, Vietnam and China (Yunnan). In Iturraran it is found in area 6.
Uses:
Treatment of difficult childbirth, rheumatism, kidney tonic (Roots).
