Description.
Epiphyte with long creeping woody rhizome 3—4 mm thick and erect l-leaved narrowly ovate pseudobulbs 1—1.5 bv 0.3—0.5 cm. Leaves coriaceous, petiolate; petiole 1—2 cm long; leaf blade elliptic to elliptic oblong, 7—15 by 3—5 cm. Inflorescence from the base of pseudobulbs, 10- -14 cm long, with 3—6 close flowers. Flowers violet to lilac-purple. Dorsal sepal broadly ovate, about 1 cm long, entire along margin, with long thread-like seta at the apex; lateral sepals 3.5—5 cm long, narrowly lanceolate, connate along upper margin, free, acute at the apex. Petals with entire margins, oblong rectangular, 5—6 mm long, truncate and mucronate at the apex. Lip movable, simple, ovate, strongly decurved. Column with long narrow column foot, with 2 broad semi-circular wings in front, at apex with 2 large erect stelidia, much broadening and forked at apex.

Notes.
It is a rather rare species that is easily distinguished by its unusually colored violet flowers and large forked stelidia. Ornamental.
