its native range is China (Yunnan) to N. Vietnam.

Vietnamese name:

Móng ngựa, Móng trâu gân dày, Móng ngựa có hàng.

Uses: 

The rhizome is also used to treat stomach and intestinal pain such as the lotus species.

Distribution: 

The tree is quite narrowly distributed, found in some low mountainous areas of Thai Nguyen (Don Du), Hoa Binh, Kon Tum (Ngoc Linh). The tree grows naturally in strips at the banks of streams or at the foot of mountains in evergreen forests.
